Welcome to the City of Grand Forks Downtown parking website! There are 3,581 total parking spots in downtown Grand Forks alone! There are plenty of spots for you to park so you can shop, dine, and enjoy downtown! As the downtown continues to grow and flourish, we have curated parking policies and operations to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all residents and visitors alike.​
PARKING RAMPS
2-hour parking Monday-Friday 7 am - 5 pm. No time limit after 5 pm and on weekends.
Permits in the Central and Corporate Ramps are digital in nature and based-off of parked vehicle and license plate information, as provided by the parker via the app. Inaccurate information will result in ticketing.

You must download the Passport Parking app to register your vehicle and pay. You must register your vehicle even if you are parking during the free 0-2 hours period.​

County Ramp - 1515 S 4th Street
This ramp is owned and managed by Grand Forks County, and is separate from the other two City ramps.

This ramp does not currently utilize the Passport system for permits or hourly/daily parking.

CITY PARKING LOTS
Division Avenue Lot - 300 S 4th Street, Grand Forks, ND 58203
Parking is available for free. No parking for more than 24 hours. No camping allowed.

Riverboat Road Lot – 51 Riverboat Rd, Grand Forks, ND 58203
Parking is available for free. No camping allowed. Pedestrian access from the lower parking lot links to Greenway Trails as well as N 3rd Street for easy access to Downtown amenities.

City Hall Lot A – 412 2nd Ave N, Grand Forks, ND 58203
City Hall Lot B – 401 University Ave, Grand Forks, ND 58203
City Hall Lot C – 322 N 4th St, Grand Forks, ND 58203
Enforced lot for Employee/Permit parking from Monday - Friday 7 am - 5 pm. Public Parking nights and weekends.
ON-STREET PARKING
Follow policy of signs as posted, ranges from loading only to 2 HR parking time limits.
All on-street parking is 2-hour parking from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday and not ticketed after 5 pm. No Hourly Limit after 5 pm Weekdays, and all-day Saturday-Sunday. Always confirm time limits and restrictions with posted signage on-street, in lots, or ramps.
Street Maintenance Information
The City of Grand Forks does street maintenance on all streets in town. In the downtown, this happens overnight on specified posted days. All other areas of town are cleaned throughout the day during the work week with each section of town having specified and posted days. Follow posted signage as marked on your street. Street maintenance includes many things including street sweeping and snow removal.

Where can I park in the Parking Garages?In the Corporate or Central Parking Ramps, a person can park anywhere that is not signed as a 24/7 and in Preferred Parking outside of the posted times.

Do the parking restrictions ever change?Yes, parking restrictions in Grand Forks can change. As seasons change, so do seasonal parking restrictions throughout the City of Grand Forks. These policies are in place to allow for snow removal in the winter months, which range from November 1 to April 15. Always confirm time limits and restrictions with posted signage on-street, in lots, or ramps to ensure compliance with current regulations.

Is there handicapped parking downtown?Yes, accessible parking is available in the parking garages and city lots throughout downtown in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. See the parking location map for details. Handicapped placards and plates are only valid in designated handicapped parking areas. They are not valid in "no parking zones" or "loading zones." ADA/handicap placards should be hung from the rearview mirror. Displaying a handicapped placard or plate does not exempt the driver from posted time limits, whether parked in a designated handicapped parking stall in a garage or in any on-street parking space.

Can local businesses provide patrons with parking validation?Yes, local businesses can sign up for the Merchant Validation Program to offer their patrons complimentary or discounted parking when they shop and dine in Grand Forks.
